How it works
Weight is simply gravity pulling on your mass: weight = mass × gravitational strength.
A planet's gravity depends on how much stuff it contains and how tightly that stuff is packed. Jupiter is enormous, so it pulls hard. The Moon is small, so it barely tugs at all.

Fun facts
On the Moon you would weigh about one sixth of your Earth weight — that is why astronauts bounce.
